always sunny at sunnyside!
We’re about to let you in on a little secret: believe it or not, there was a time in our careers where family sessions were not our most favourite thing to shoot. It might not be for the reasons you’re thinking though! In all honesty, they made us kinda nervous because it was a dynamic we didn’t have too much experience with! We’re two only children from a single parent house hold and the rest of our family reside everywhere but here in Ontario! Family sessions just felt like such a foreign connection to document! Just like with anything though, you keep at it, find your strengths + different ways to connect instead.

The last few months have shown restrictions loosening up and with that our little photography business has seen an influx of family sessions being booked! These sessions have ended up being some of our favourites— like seriously, we’ve grown to really really love them + leave with hearts so full! With the year everyone has had, it feels that much more important to document familial bonds.
Anaïs + Matthias reached out to us last year and had us document their expecting session so it was a full circle moment for us when they reached out to us again to document some family moments + to finally meet Gaspard who had just turned one! They chose Sunnyside beach as their location + we spent the evening of Father’s Day taking some photos of these three!
What we loved most about documenting this session was getting to watch A, M + G connect with each other. Watching Anaïs flip Gaspard upside down as she does when they’re at home. Watching these young parents feeding Gaspard fruits and playing hide and go seek with a beach hat! We loved the little moments like how cute Gaspard’s sandy bottom was and how at his age he is already so fearless and adventurous! This kid did not want to get out of the water!! So. Freaking. Wholesome!
We’re always so grateful to anyone that chooses us to document life moments for them, and we are even more grateful when they continue to book us and allow us in on their journey. Forever such an honour!
Thanks for reading + hope y’all like the photos!
